 Celtic Stadium

Celtic Park
1892 when the local landowner increased the rent on the ground occupied by Celtic FC the club looked to an adjacent plot of land to build a new ground.

The new Celtic Park was such an improvement on the old ground that it was referred to as being like Paradise; a nickname still used by the fans today.

The ground's other nickname is Parkhead after the local district. By the early 1990s the once impressive ground had become dilapidated. With Fergus McCann's take over of the club in 1994 work began on transforming Celtic Park into a modern all seated stadium.

The famous north enclosure better known to Celtic fans as the jungle was the first to disappear making way for the massive north stand.
