The SPL U19 League, now sponsored by the Clydesdale Bank, began in Season 2003/04. Prior to that, the competition was run as the SPL U18 League. Celtic have seven titles to their name, with Rangers (three times) Aberdeen, Hearts and Hibernian also successful in the past.
The 12 clubs play each other home and away for a total of 22 matches. The 2011/12 season is scheduled to run from August until the end of March, incorporating a winter break. Games are normally played on a Friday afternoon or Saturday morning but are subject to change.
U19 players for season 2011/12 are those born on or after 1.1.93.
