Easter Road
Hibernian have played at two separate grounds bearing the Easter Road title.
The first was occupied by the club between 1880 and 1891 while the present day ground was first opened in 1892.
The club's most successful era was during the late 1940s and 1950s and high banked terracing was created around this time to accommodate the large crowds who came along to be entertained by the Famous Five forward line.
It is no surprise therefore that Easter Road's record attendance of 65,860 was set in 1950 against Edinburgh rivals Heart of Midlothian.
A major redevelopment of the ground took place in 1995 with the construction of stands behind each goal and more recently the old main stand was demolished to make way for a new impressive stand which opened in 2001.
Directions to Easter Road
Founded in 1875, The Hibees play at Easter Road Stadium, which lies east of the centre of Edinburgh.
The greatest era for Hibernian came in the late 1940s and early 1950s when the Famous Five forward line inspired the club to three of their four League Championship titles.
The club were the first British entrant in the European Cup, reaching the semi finals of the inaugural competition in 1955/56. Easter Road attracted a record crowd of 65,860 in 1950 for the visit of city rivals Hearts.
Hibs have won both the Scottish Cup and League Cup twice while Lawrie Reilly is their most capped player with 38 appearances for Scotland.
