Celtic win U19 League
Celtic clinched the Clydesdale Bank U19 League title on Friday afternoon when nearest challengers Rangers were beaten 2-0 by Dundee United.
Stuart Armstrong took his tally for the season to 10 by scoring both goals for United in the second half - the first from the penalty spot - to lift them into second place in the table.
Stevie Frail and Tommy McIntyre guided Celtic to the championship with two matches to spare and will bid for the double when they face Rangers in the SFA Youth Cup final on Wednesday.
Head of Youth Chris McCart told the club website: "We are absolutely delighted at this achievement and I would like to thank all the staff and players concerned.
“In particular I would like to thank Neil Lennon and Danny McGrain during their time in charge of the Celtic development squad for supporting us. We feel their backing helped us tremendously."
Celtic celebrated their success by beating Aberdeen 1-0 at Lennoxtown on Saturday thanks to a goal from Callum McGregor midway through the second half.
St Johnstone won 1-0 at Hearts to continue their fine recent form and move off the bottom.
