Post-match reaction

What the managers said after Saturday's games in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League:

Falkirk 1-2 St Johnstone

Steven Pressley "Probably on reflection a draw might have been a fair result but up until their goal I thought we fully merited the lead. We must react in a positive manner this week."

Derek McInnes "I said at the start of this week, this was as important a game as any in my career as manager at St Johnstone. The crowd came down in their numbers for us and I was delighted the players managed to win the game, especially after coming from behind."

Hamilton Accies 1-0 St Mirren

Billy Reid "I think that's been coming for us. In recent weeks we battled so hard and never got what we deserved. We battered them for 25 minutes but the ball just wouldn't go in. At half-time I said to the players that they should just keep believing and it would come for them."

Gus MacPherson "Confidence is down at the moment, there's no doubt about that, but that's what happens when you don't get results. It's our job to get them back up again."

Motherwell 3-1 Hearts

Craig Brown "We started the first half exceptionally well, a third one wouldn't have flattered us at half-time but you know Jim Jefferies' teams will always battle. They came out with a different attitude so we had to dig out the second half."

Jim Jefferies "There was no way we could have won that - Motherwell were quicker, sharper, their application was better. The second half was a bit of an improvement."
