Rangers win U19 derby

Rangers beat Celtic 2-1 at Barrowfield in the Clydesdale Bank U19 League on Saturday afternoon to close the gap on the leaders to a single point.

Second-half goals from Archie Campbell and Kane Hemmings - his 10th of the season - gave Rangers the advantage before Bahrudin Atajic pulled one back late on for the hosts.

St Mirren are up to third place thanks to a 4-0 win over Kilmarnock helped by Jon McShane's double while Hearts edged out Hibernian 1-0 in the Edinburgh derby courtesy of Michael Deland.

The first SPL fixture to be played indoors saw Motherwell beat Hamilton 3-2 at Toryglen. Gary Smith grabbed a double to take his tally for the season to 10, with Dan Parker also on target for Gordon Young's side after Chris Roxburgh and Jordan Kirkpatrick had given Accies a 2-0 lead.

Dundee United missed the chance to go level on points at the top when they went down 2-1 to Aberdeen. Dominico Gibson scored twice for the visitors before Gavin Stokes pulled one back.

Ally Graham hit a double as Falkirk got the better of bottom club St Johnstone 4-2 at Stirling University. Blair Alston and Conor Kelly also netted for the Bairns, with Steven May twice replying.
