Dons end Rangers' run
Lee Miller scored the only goal as Aberdeen ended Rangers' 21-game unbeaten run in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League with a 1-0 victory at Pittodrie on Saturday.
Walter Smith's side hadn't lost on league business since Inverness CT won at Ibrox in March but Miller converted a Michael Paton cross after 17 minutes and that proved enough to extend the Dons' fine run to just one defeat in their last nine home meetings with the Light Blues.
Mark Kerr was sent off for a second booking on the hour mark but Rangers couldn't take advantage as they suffered their first away league loss for exactly 12 months.
That result allowed Celtic to go back to the top of the table thanks to a 3-1 home victory over
St Mirren. Scott McDonald's shot deflected in off Chris Innes to give Tony Mowbray's men the lead late in the first half and Georgios Samaras added a second before Michael Higdon pulled one back right on half-time. McDonald made it 3-1 but he later saw a penalty saved by Paul Gallacher.
John Hughes' Hibernian are just two points off the pace after a 2-0 win over bottom club Falkirk at Easter Road. Brian McLean turned a Derek Riordan shot into his own net and Riordan wrapped it up in 88 minutes as the visitors failed to build on last week's win over Hamilton.
Motherwell drew for the eighth time this season as nine-man Dundee United earned a point in a thrilling 2-2 draw at Fir Park. Andy Webster gave United the lead but John Sutton and Lukas Jutkiewicz had Well in front by the break. Prince Buaben was then sent off but Jon Daly levelled before Danny Swanson was also dismissed near the end of a dramatic encounter.
Hearts won away in the SPL for the first time since February - a 2-1 success at Kilmarnock leaving Jim Jefferies' side second from bottom. Eggert Jonsson and Christian Nade had Hearts in command but Kevin Kyle missed a late penalty then Craig Bryson reduced the deficit.
St Johnstone remain three points ahead of Hamilton after a 1-1 draw between the pair in Perth. On-loan Dundee striker Mickael Antoine-Curier gave Accies the lead midway through the first half but Filipe Morais equalised for Derek McInnes' side soon after.
