Rangers held in Reserves
Reigning champions Celtic now need just one point to clinch the SPL Reserve League title after nearest challengers Rangers drew 0-0 with third-placed Hearts at Forthbank this afternoon.
Allan McGregor and Barry Ferguson featured for the visitors but the latter was forced off early because of a calf injury while Hearts had Ryan McGowan red-carded late on.
Celtic will be crowned champions if they avoid defeat against Rangers next week and Willie McStay's men also have games with Dundee United and Aberdeen to come.
It was a day of few goals in the SPL Reserve League, with a 0-0 draw between Falkirk and Motherwell while Aberdeen edged out Hibernian 1-0 thanks to a Callum McRobbie goal.
Gary Mason struck to give St Mirren a 1-0 win over Dundee United and it was the same score in Monday's match when Connor Sammon netted in Kilmarnock's victory at Hamilton.
