Saints come out on top in Tannadice goal fest
St Mirren moved to within three points of the top six in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League thanks to a 4-3 win over Dundee United in a dramatic match at Tannadice on Sunday.
Saints, who had won only one previous away game this season, came out on top to leave United without a home victory since beating Dundee in the derby match back in August.
Paul Dummett gave Saints the lead in 16 minutes but Jon Daly equalised from the penalty spot and Stuart Armstrong gave the hosts an interval advantage as United hit back.
Steven Thompson levelled early in the second period and Marc McAusland made it 3-2 to the Paisley men before United had Brian McLean sent off. David Van Zanten added a fourth for the visitors with 12 minutes left and Barry Douglas' late free-kick was not enough to save United.
