Celtic top after Pittodrie win, Dundee defeat Hibs

Celtic moved a point clear at the top of the Clydesdale Bank Premier League with a 2-0 win over Aberdeen at Pittodrie in the lunchtime clash on Saturday.

Lassad Nouioui broke the deadlock with just 17 minutes left and Charlie Mulgrew scored against his former club to seal victory for Neil Lennon's men in the North East.

Hibernian, who started the day as SPL leaders, went down 3-1 at Dens Park to bottom club Dundee, who have now closed the gap on St Mirren to a single point.

Kyle Benedictus, Steven Milne and Kevin McBride all netted for Barry Smith's team before the league's leading marksman Leigh Griffiths pulled one back for Hibs late on.

A second-half goal from Danny Grainger earned Hearts a 1-0 win as St Mirren slipped to a sixth straight defeat in front of a big Tynecastle crowd of 16,443.

St Johnstone and Ross County shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw at McDiarmid Park. Dave Mackay opened the scoring but a Liam Craig own goal gave the Staggies a point.

Dundee United and Kilmarnock drew 3-3 in a thrilling match on Friday night while Inverness CT entertain Motherwell on Sunday - live on Sky Sports with a 12.45pm kick-off.
